The Arbitrarium, a circuit bent Kidz Delight Remote. It has 2 internal LFO clocks. One has a higher frequency and is called “retrigger”. This clock resets when the slower clock, called “internal” goes high or an external audio signal creates a pulse. It has 4 triggering modes :
-Internal retrigger – the retrigger clock is reset when the internal clock goes high. The retrigger clock triggers the sounds in this mode. The internal clock also triggers a sample and hold and changes sounds if the device is in “random mode”.
-Internal direct – the internal clock triggers sounds directly.
-External retrigger – the retrigger clock is reset when the external audio signal creates a pulse.. The retrigger clock triggers the sounds in this mode. The external audio also triggers a sample and hold and changes sounds if the device is in “random mode”.
-External direct – the internal clock triggers sounds directly.
There is an embedded Arduino programmed microcontroller which enables all the functions described.
